Lingam Findings to be Discussed

Cabinet to discuss findings on video clip

KUCHING: The cabinet will discuss the findings of the independent panel formed to investigate the “Lingam” video clip at its weekly meeting tomorrow.

“We will be able to discuss it tomorrow when it is tabled at the cabinet meeting,” Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said when asked about the reports of the three-member panel that were submitted to the government last Friday.

In Kuala Lumpur, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said the reports were likely to be made public.

He said yesterday the government was aware of the public interest in the panel’s findings.

“We will be assessing the reports in a matter of days. The prime minister and I will then discuss what to do next,” he said.

“We realise there is great public interest in the case and that we should make the findings public.”

Hmm I look forward to hearing the results of this cabinet meeting. Will the panel be voting unanimously to denounce the authenticity of the video, or will it be a 2 against 1 vote for the same outcome?

I get the feeling that VK Lingam is going to be a scapegoat, unless the government is trying to show its ugly colors to the world by just dismissing the video and calling it, ‘case closed’.
